Pipe Ramming is a trenchless method for installing steel pipes and casings using pneumatic percussive blows which drive the pipe into the ground and is generally most useful for shallow installations under railway lines and roads, where other trenchless methods may cause surface settlement or heaving. The majority of installations are horizontal, although vertical installations are possible.
Pipe Bursting is another trenchless method of replacing buried pipelines without the need for traditional construction by using an expanding device called an expander head, which breaks the existing pipe from within and pushes the old pipe outwards into the surrounding soil while the new pipe is pulled into place immediately.
We have successfully constructed and serviced thousands of feet of pipeline and conduit utilizing the Pipe Ramming & Bursting techniques into and through congested urban settings and environmentally sensitive crossings. You name it and we have utilized these services for a multitude of applications and installations while navigating through and past rivers, wetlands, roads, railways and parks.
